About Alice Bones Chartered Physiotherapist
Grad Dip Phys, MCSP, SRP, AACP

I qualified from The Bath School of Physiotherapy in 1988 and worked for the NHS where I specialised in Haemophilia and HIV, teaching and presenting papers internationally and in Britain. In 2004 I qualified as an acupuncturist and established my physiotherapy and sports injuries clinic at Hawley Health Centre

I welcome self referrals to my clinic and regularly receive referrals from GP's and consultants, I also work with private insurance and intermediary companies.
My treatments cover a wide range of musculoskeletal problems which include back pain, whiplash injuries, work related pain (such as RSI), sports injuries and post-operative pain.

I would describe my approach to patients as caring and professional. I listen closely to what patients are telling me, which enables me to gain a thorough understanding of how the problem affects them as an individual. I firmly believe in finding out what is truly causing the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. Through a comprehensive assessment I can then identify and treat the root of the problem which helps to prevent further recurrence and promotes full recovery.

All my treatment plans are approached in a holistic way and are tailored to suit the individual. I use a variety of evidence based treatments which may include Manual Therapy, Electrotherapy, Acupuncture, movement/postural retraining as well as exercises advice and guidance.
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist and am registered with the following bodies:

  • Health Care Professions Council
  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Physio First
  • Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists

To ensure all my clients receive the very best treatment I regularly attend courses and seminars run by these organisations. This enables me to offer the most up to date research based treatment techniques.

I am also a preferred provider with BUPA, AXA PPP and all major insurance companies.
